A History Rooted With Diversity

The boundary between 'real salsa' and its predecessors is blurred to say the least.

In the end, salsa, of course, developed across many countries and regions: Cuba, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Panama, Venezuela, among countless others. Also, before Salsa could become its truly modern self, it needed to absorb some of the musical idioms from yet another great cultural melting pot: The United States.

Today, the genre of Salsa continues to receive meaningful contributions from not only people from the Spanish speaking Caribbean and Central/South America, but also from those from all around the world.
