Often times, members of the 'orquesta' get little love - always the bridesmaid, as it were.

Most would agree, however, that they are the core, the foundation, the "pillars" all of whom collectively offer what everyone wants: salsa brava or 'hard' salsa. What is salsa brava? For us, the term means salsa that retains the basic characteristics of classic salsa: driving rhythms, call and response, and 'montuno' sections just to name a few.

More simply, it is up-tempo salsa, with an emphasis on percussion and band orchestration rather than the vocals.
